Over dinner with my Mom's side today, my Aunt started talking to my brother and I. Somehow we arrived at the topic of Economics. Yes I know, my stomach kinda lost its libido. Anything that's related to Math or Econs (well not so much Econs compared to Math) turns my brain off and throws it off the cliff. The variant this time was the fact that my Aunt was pursuing her Masters. It kinda bewilders me how such a successful and rich and successfully rich woman like her would suddenly jump at an offer to take up her Masters at the Chicago School of Econs. Coincidentally, I have been reading about that school in a rather negative light from a certain doctrine. So the dinner conversation did turn out. I fear for my puny life to comment on anything about them here so let's just strip it down to the bare minimum and say that, "I'm happy Singapore doesn't adopt its ideals". And to cut to the chase, I simply don't commit to the idea that our Asian values match their ambitious appetite to "liberate" the world. Take what I just said with a bottle of salt.
Anyone watched that National Day Tele-movie on 5 the other day? I must say the commercials worked their magic on both Shan and I and we jumped at the idea of watching it. And so we did. And so we were unsurprisingly amused. And so they did it again; they so conveniently slotted in a very harmonious-multiracial-we-love-the-motherland plot. AND AND AND, there was a major cock up at one of the scenes where they played the sound of the female lead crying, while showing another scene. It was totally out of sync and kinda creepy to hear weird crying noises coming from god knows where. Sadako was going to climb out at any moment. Then again, the warning bells were going off the moment they labeled it "National Day Tele-movie". Yes, it was our folly. Of course the station has seen better days, programs like ...er.... . *Anyhow*, I can't wait for the audition rounds of SI 3 to be aired. That's the highlight of my TV days for 2009 probably. Its always fun to laugh at others lightly.
Went on the Amex Yacht 2 days ago with the bandies. It was really just awesome to sit and chill and eat and chill and drink and chill and still have the rest of the day left. The beach which we anchored at was really nice, too bad I was too lazy to go down! It was the cleanest I have seen any Singapore related beach for years. In other news, I knocked my head twice in the yacht and drank 4 glasses of white wine. Kudos to Shaun for booking the Yacht.
Meanwhile, the band is going to start releasing demos over the period of the next 2 months, expect at least 3 new songs, which won't be disappointing I promise. You know where to look for us so go. We are also on twitter, bandcamp and I revamped the myspace.
Today, I had once more, the most awesome Ramen in town! Yes, sometimes it goes overboard and tastes like the dead sea, but mostly its really just awesome with its great tasting thick Miso broth which never fails to give me withdrawal symptoms every few days. Thinking about it now is just killing me. A thousand thanks to Ben DM for introducing it to me. Miharu Sapporo Ramen. Damn mother good. Its at Gallery Hotel at Robertson Quay by the way, go if you can, you WON'T be disappointed.
Guess which season is starting soon? BPL, my weekly dose of sporting indulgence is back! If you can't run, watch!
